Does God Give Us MORE Than We Can Handle? YES

excerpt from “The Spirit Filled Believer’s” Daily Devotional

February 6

“The people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.

~Daniel 11:32

“This verse covers life during times of great stress, pressure, and turmoil. It is not speaking of a time of unparalleled peace, prosperity, and plenty. It is a promise that shows us how to survive in a climate of international tension, economic upheaval, and spiritual change. This word from the Lord tells us that persecution of the Christians will result in greater knowledge (‘they shall know their God’), greater strength (‘they shall be strong’), and greater miracles (‘they shall carry out great exploits’). The more difficult the days, the greater God’s power will be demonstrated. You and I should be encouraged knowing that the Lord is fortifying us for the future. We are not only going to survive, we have been promised that miracles will accompany our Christian witness.

In times of great opposition to the Church of the living God, the world becomes a combat zone between God and satan. Where sin abounds, grace abounds even more. (Rom. 5:20) The greater the darkness, the greater the light. Right in the midst of the devil’s revival of occultism and mystic religions, the Holy Ghost is being poured out in copious measure.

The Church of Jesus Christ is not getting weaker and weaker as the end of time approaches; it is getting stronger and stronger. We believers are going out in a blaze of glory. We will know the Lord intimately, have a prevailing strength, and do notable feats and miracles in His name! Our future prospect is victory all the way!

~Dick Mills

Throughout my life, when things began to look hopeless, I would question the Lord…”Are You angry with me? Am I being punished? Did you ever love me? Why is this happening? When are You going to show up and fix this?”

StockSnap_FETAZNQOG6

But after going through a whole array of emotions and strategies, I would land on my knees, submitting everything to Him.

All cried out I’d say, “I don’t understand…but I love You Daddy… What ever Your will is, ok…that’s my will too. Just show me what You want me to do, and I’ll do it.”

You see it was only then, that things would begin to make sense.

His peace and comfort would envelop me, and once nothing else mattered except my relationship with Him, I would see the miracle start happen.

Does God give us more than we can handle? YES, because He loves us, and it is only THEN that we are putty in His hands…no resistance, no rebellion, no demands, no ultimatums, no manipulations, no tantrums…at that point we are just humble and submissive…at that point we are teachable.

Looking back across the last 20 years, I can honestly say I am grateful for every hardship, every betrayal, every devastating blow that blindsided me, because once life knocked me to my knees, it is there I prayed.

I’m so grateful for every single time that I was left with a hopeless situation, where there were no solutions in the natural, because it was then that I got a front row seat to witness a miracle. And with each and every crazy miracle that I’ve seen, the Lord has built my faith into a strong-tower. He’s gradually grown my dependence upon Him, until now I follow Him with a child like faith.

~ 2 Corinthians 1:8-11 “We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself.  Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead.  He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.”

God never said it was going to be easy, He just said it would be worth it. We were born into a war…a war that has been heating up here, in the last inning. It’s a chess game if you will, and we have been chosen to battle for the Kingdom of God.

drawn thee

Let me ask you this, what is it to be DRAWN?

Well, let’s look at the definition…

draw:

1. to produce (a picture, work of art, or diagram) by making lines and marks, especially with a pen or pencil, on a paper.

  “He drew a map.”

2. pull or drag something (such as a vehicle) so as to cause it to follow behind.

3. the act of selecting names, typically by extracting them from a group of names to match competitors in a game or tournament.

In His perfect foreknowledge He chose you, before the world began…now He’s making you into a warrior, for His purposes…a work of art. It may be painful, but He’s fashioning you into a champion.

It’s not suppose to be easy, or comfortable…just ask any Olympic Athlete who’s won the gold.

I want to thank you for stopping by today. My heart goes out to each and every person who is struggling, and so I’ve included a prayer just for you, here at the bottom…

PRAYER:

Dear Heavenly Father,

As I lift Your children up to You right now, I ask that You scatter every demonic strategy that comes against them in the name of Jesus Christ. I ask Father that You would close every door that has been opened to the demonic, knowingly or unknowingly, and seal it closed with the blood of Jesus. Father I ask that You would deploy Your warrior angels from the windows of Heaven, to encamp around them, and protect them from any efforts of our enemy satan, or his emissaries. Father I break any curses or spells that have been spoken against Your children in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it is written…”Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8) And I ask You Lord to fill them with Your Holy Spirit, for “where Your light shines, no darkness can overcome it.” (1 John 1:5)

I thank You for doing this, as I pray all these things in the name of Jesus, Amen.

belief-bible-book-267559

BTW, every thing we lift up to the Lord, is made far more effective when we have FIRST forgiven every person who has ever done anything to harm us, or our loved ones…and when we then ask the Lord to forgive us. I know it may seem fake to say that we forgive someone, when in hearts we don’t feel the forgiveness is genuine. However when we do so in obedience to the Lord, and then ask that it will take root in our spirit, our obedience is highly favored, and brings our prayers to a supernatural level of effectiveness.

PRAYER FOR FORGIVENESS:

Dear Father God, I thank You for all the many ways You choose to bless me. Thank You for Your mercy, grace and abundant love. I confess that there is anger and resentment in my heart, and I ask You to deliver me from it. As a matter of my will, I forgive every person who has ever hurt me, harmed me, or spoken against me, and I ask that You would cause that forgiveness to take root in my spirit. As I do this and forgive all those who have sinned against me, I ask that You forgive every sin I’ve committed, knowingly or unknowingly. Please wash me clean in the blood of Christ and put my sin as far as the east is from the west. I thank You for doing this, as I will no longer allow the enemy to harass me with the past, because I choose to forgive myself, and receive the full blessings of Your forgiveness. I ask You to teach me to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, as You have instructed me to do. (2 Cor. 10:5)

I pray all these things, in the mighty name of our Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ, Amen.

The Wisdom To Proceed

excerpt from “The Spirit Filled Believer’s” Daily Devotional

February 4

“Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times.”

~Isaiah 33:6 NKJ

“Wisdom and knowledge go together like a husband and wife. They complete each other.

Knowledge is facts; it is informational. Wisdom is understanding; it is directive, procedural. Knowledge provides data needed to be informed and aware. Wisdom provides the insight necessary to know how to proceed on facts at hand. For example, Noah had the facts about the coming worldwide flood 120 years before it arrived on the scene. But he really didn’t know what to do about that flood until a word of wisdom came to him saying, “Build an ark.”

You and I can be intuitively and sensitively cognizant of coming events in our own life. But knowledge alone is not enough. We need to wait for wisdom to show us how to proceed. James tells us if anyone lacks wisdom, it is available for the asking.

Lot and Abraham both knew that Sodom was going to end up at the bottom of the Dead Sea. Abraham knew it a week before it happened, and Lot knew it a day ahead of time. To those who are truly in tune with the Lord, knowledge always comes first because God is omniscient; He knows all things. Proverbs 14:6 says that knowledge is easy to the person who understands. (NKJ) There is not anything the Lord doesn’t know. He even invites His children to be curious enough about their future to ask Him about it. (Jer. 33:3) Once we have done that, once we have the facts, then we are to inquire and ask for wisdom and direction. With both wisdom and knowledge, we are standing on solid ground.”

~Dick Mills

Over the years I have learned how to receive guidance from the Lord, and it’s been a priceless gift that has literally saved my life. Sometimes I hear a still small voice, a voice of spirit. Sometimes I get images that flash across my mind. Sometimes I have dreams or visions, and sometimes it’s just a “knowing” that I can’t quite explain. Dick Mills calls it being “cognizant of coming events.”

The priest.

I’d like to share with you what an amazing thing it is to live in this type of closeness with the Lord. It changes everything. I believe it’s the way we’re intended to live, following His lead with a child like faith, casting every burden upon Him.

Life can be a bumpy road to travel. Wouldn’t it be awesome to walk through the challenges we face, with confidence that every decision is the right one, because you first sought the only guidance that matters, from the One who declared the end from the beginning?

I believe that’s how the spirit filled Christian is suppose to live, in close relationship with God, constantly receiving revelation from God, following His guidance with a child-like faith, while casting all our burden’s on Him. Not allowing anything or anyone to steal our peace, or our joy.

If you don’t already have this type of relationship with your Father in Heaven, I’d like to invite you to take the first steps in getting there…

Do you find yourself asking how to receive revelation from God?

Do you want to really KNOW God’s love for you?

Then let me recommend the book “The God I Never Knew” by Pastor Robert Morris, where he explains exactly how he cultivated this type of intimate relationship with the Lord, and how you can too! It’s a short, easy read…and is even available on audio book.

I’m also giving you a link to the free sermon series on You Tube, of the same name, that Pastor Morris gave at our church. It’s SERIOUSLY life changing! angel-422535

I’m also including a prayer for revelation, at the bottom of this page, so that you can invite God into a more intimate relationship.

Many blessings on your new walk with the One who has all of your days, written in His book.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! And please reach out to me with any prayer requests, or testimonies that you’d like to share.

I’m looking forward to hearing from you!!!

Prayer:

God, I come to you in the name of Jesus and thank you that you have been reaching out to me. Thank you that You speak, and that You want a close intimate relationship personal relationship with me.

I surrender my life into Your capable hands, and thank You that in my search for meaning of life, You have lead me to You, my CREATOR. I ask that You forgive me of every sin I’ve committed knowingly or unknowingly, as I forgive those who have sinned against me.

I ask You to remove from my life anything that leads to a disconnection from You, because my desire is to know You more fully, and to be known by You in a deep and profound way.

I ask for Your Holy Spirit to come into my life and restore a full connection of my heart to Your heart. I thank You that Jesus died, so that I might be fully alive in You, and I ask that You breathe life into my core, re-align my thinking with Your thinking, re-envision me and restore me to a child-like joy, and inner peace.

I thank You God for doing this, for new joy, new healing, new peace, supernatural knowledge and wisdom, and a fresh new relationship with You that will increase in depth and intimacy with each passing day. Thank You for a future filled with Divine purpose, as You come into my life and redesign it according to Your beauty, brilliance, and goodness.

Show me God how much You love me. Show me how You see me. Reveal to me the things to come, and what Your will is for my life.

Thank You for chasing me down until I heard You loud and clear, and that You have an incredible plan for my life.

Teach me how to take every thought captive in obedience to Christ.

Close every door that I’ve opened to the demonic knowingly or unknowingly, and open doors for me that no man can shut.

I love You Father God. I praise You, and pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

GET YOUR ZEAL ON!

excerpt from “The Spirit Filled Believer’s” Daily Devotional

February 3

“In the book of Revelation, each of the seven churches in Asia is promised a different reward for overcoming the flesh, the world and the devil. These rewards include the privilege of eating of the tree of life and the hidden manna, and being made a pillar in the temple of God. The last church mentioned was Laodicea. The reward offered them, was this promise to be enthroned with Jesus in a place of glory and honor.

There are many similarities between tendencies of the Laodiceans and the modern-day Church.Their luke-warmness, complacency, smugness, and spiritual conceit are characteristics we see prevalent in many of our churches today.

I used to think the greatest rewards were reserved for the martyrs. Surely I thought, giving up ones life for the cause of Christ would bring great rewards. Second on my list were the missionaries. If anybody deserved special rewards for self-sacrifice, doubtless was this group of brave people who have given up everything to go witness to foreign people.

But the truth is, the greatest reward is promised to those who can keep a ZEAL alive, a flame of devotion, and a spiritual intensity in a world filled with apathy and spiritual indifference. Keeping the FIRE of the Holy Ghost burning in the midst of ineptitude, mediocrity, and spiritual lethargy results in the privilege of sitting on the throne with Jesus.”

~Dick Mills

~Revelation 3:16 “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.”

What IS ZEAL?

ZEAL: great energy or enthusiasm in pursuit of a cause or an objective. Intense emotion compelling action.  If you have zeal, you’re willing, energized, and motivated.

~Isaiah 59:17 “He put on righteousness like a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on His head; He put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and He wrapped Himself in zeal as in a cloak.” book-1210029

The cloak of ZEAL that is in Isaiah 59:17 isn’t actually mentioned in Ephesians 6:10-20, although it is a significant part of our armor as Christians.

I would have to say that I for one, have a lot of zeal! If however you don’t, I’d like to invite you to GET YOUR ZEAL ON! Get fired up for the Kingdom of God, and ask “How can I be an instrument of Your will today Lord?”

Begin a street ministry. Give your testimony to anyone who will listen! Tell people of all the great things the Lord has done for you.

Reach out to your local church, and ask how you can be of service…

What ever you feel lead to do, don’t hesitate…JUST DO IT!

Then, let’s get this party started!

Reach out to me and share what the Lord is leading you to do, and how you are putting on the “Cloak of Zeal.”

I’m eager to hear your testimony.
